First Teacher Home Visiting Program

The First Teacher Home Visiting program provides information, support and encouragement to parents and caregivers through home visits to help children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. Using the Parents As Teachers (PAT) Curriculum, the First Teacher Program provides support to pregnant women, mothers, fathers, and other caregivers of young children (up to age 5) in their own home.

The First Teacher Home Visiting Program serves 140 families in Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin, Lamar, Marion, Marshall and Winston counties using the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum.
